Work Experience

The University of Cincinnati provided such a great school experience for me in that it gave me the chance to acquire on the job experience for a full 18 months. By time I graduated, I had 6 months experience with licensed sleepwear graphic design, 6 months experience with Disney Cruise Line merchandising, and 6 months experience with ANF Technical Design. These opportunities allowed me to learn a little bit about several different areas of Fashion Design, and helped me to find my own niche.

Abercrombie & Fitch hired me 4 months prior to my graduation, and I started at the company as an Assistant Technical Designer in women’s outerwear. At the time, I mainly worked on core brand ANF, but also had the chance to work with Hollister, Ruehl and abercrombie kids’ product as well.

Over the last three years, I have been promoted twice. I was first promoted to Associate Technical Designer in August 2008, where I first “owned” my own brand, and started to focus mainly on ANF product. My second promotion came in February 2010, and I was promoted to career level Technical Designer. I now dictate the every day tasks and fits for our core brand, and I am solely responsible for ANF technical development.
